Kersh Football Bio:
Signed by Morecambe FC in 1988, playing for 4 seasons before signing for Blackpool FC in 1992 on dual registration, made Lancashire School Boys and Northern School Boys debuts. Made debut for Morecambe FC Reserves in 1994 against Blackburn Rovers, Shay Givens debut for Rovers. 1995 started training with the first team at Blackpool and was loaned out to Kendal Town. Really exciting period of my career working with Sam Allardyce and playing in the Lancashire Floodlight League, coming up against Lee Sharp, Kevin Sheedy, Peter Beagrie, and many more legends of the game. While returning to play for Morecambe in 1996, broke my right leg in two places against Crewe Alexander! Returned to playing after 18 months and loaned to Lancaster City and Southport. After a reoccurrence of the injury, advised to stop playing football. After relocating to the Ribble Valley after completing the Sports Diploma at Myerscough College, started playing again for Rimington FC. Short periods with Clitheroe FC and Great Harwood in the 2000s. But the next 20+ years were spent at Rimington FC, winning 28 league, cup, and county honours. 2014 and 15 selected for Northern Counties in the FA representative competition. Unbelievable period to be involved with Rimington football club, making 599 appearances. Probably not the career I would have liked to have had, but I wouldn't change any of it. Lifelong friends and have made brilliant memories on my football journey.
Kersh Coaching Bio:
After speaking to Asmir Begovic, accepted the position of head GK at AB1. It was a very enjoyable period learning how to run an academy and taking the first steps into coaching. Working at Everton and Wigan during that period. Decided after 12 months myself and AB1 were on different paths and discussions with fellow coach Stuart Cross, we decided to set up ELGA, and we have never looked back. It was one of the best decisions I've made in my life.
