Taylor Gregson - Playing Background:

I have played football since the age of 8, at the same club since I started Burnley FC Women. I have always been an outfield player, usually at CB or RB. I started to play in goal full time when I turned 21, after numerous spells in the net covering other players being injured etc…This was at Burnley FC Girls and Ladies (as it was known). I remember captaining the 1st team against Blackpool and keeping a clean sheet in a 3-0 domination that year. I was a volunteer Police Officer at this time and even represented the Force internationally at 2 competitions in goal playing Futsal between 2013 and 2016. I moved abroad at the age of 21 and played in the USA for a U23s soccer team called The Valkyries. I returned to the UK and spent the next 3-4 years with Burnley FC Women. I played in the 1st team and reserve team as a Goalkeeper, playing a key role in the back-to-back promotion success the women’s team saw in 2018 and 2019. Burnley FC Women became a more professional outfit and played at tier 3 of the women’s football pyramid. As any good coach…injuries played a part in my playing decline and I started a full-time role as a Police Officer, causing my football career to slow down and take a back seat. I also started a degree and prioritised this over my football. In 2021 I started to play for the Police team and then became a player at the international service level, representing Great Britain Police in European friendlies and local fixtures and camps, heading to the European Championships in 2025.

Coaching Background:

In 2012-2014 I was a college student at Burnley College where I completed my first football coaching qualification and volunteered with the U12s Burnley Women’s team as a coach. In 2016 I took a job opportunity in the USA and moved to New Jersey, this is where I began to coach full time and played soccer around my coaching. I worked with male and female teams from the ages of 8-23 years. I learnt how to adapt sessions and quickly learnt how to plan detailed sessions. I also started my Goalkeeper coaching 1-1 sessions. I took my lower-level USA coaching qualifications and moved back to the UK where I started a Job with Burnley FC in The Community. I qualified as a level 2 football coach and completed my disabled coaching qualification, talent ID course and level 1 futsal course. In 2018 I enrolled on the UEFA B course and coached the U13, U14 and U16 Burnley Girls teams on a weekly basis. I also coached HUBS, school clubs and holiday clubs and completed my Youth award in coaching. Now in 2025 I am a full time emergency worker, football player for the emergency services team and Goalkeeper coach At ELGA.
